Class of 2019

One of the best experiences I’ve had at law school.

The best experience has been in the Public Interest Clinic, where I was a practicing student attorney. I had multiple clients assigned to me, and I communicated with opposing counsel, advised my clients, prepared agreements, and drafted pleadings. I also went in front of the judge to represent a client. I loved that in my third semester I have already appeared in front of a judge and engaged in negotiations with opposing counsel to come to an agreement.

Favorite class I’ve taken.

My favorite class so far has been Evidence. Our professor, David Lowy, is a Justice on the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court. Professor Lowy has provided extraordinary insights into the Federal Rules of Evidence, applying them to real-world and hypothetical problems. It was an amazing opportunity to learn from someone with such experience and knowledge.

On my Classmates

My classmates are supportive. There is a feeling that we are all in this together. Everyone understands that we are either going through the same thing, have gone through it, or will go through it next semester. This creates a tight-knit, supportive community.

On the Faculty

The faculty are passionate. They really care about the students’ understanding of the material and the area of law they teach.

One Piece of Advice for Someone Trying to Decide Where to Go to Law School

My advice would be for students to pick the environment that suits you. If you thrive in a competitive setting, find a competitive school. If you thrive in a teamwork setting, find a school that does not grade on a strict curve.
