Professional Background

Kristin McCarthy serves as Director of the Law Library at New England Law | Boston, overseeing all library operations and staff in assisting students and faculty in their legal research needs. As an Assistant Professor of Law, Professor McCarthy also teaches Advanced Legal Research, which covers all aspects of legal research, from case law and codes to international law, using primary and secondary resources, both online and in traditional print-based media, focusing on formulating different research strategies based on different types of research tasks.

Additionally, Professor McCarthy is Interim Director of Instructional Technology, a department that investigates, implements, and supports technology in furtherance of legal education at New England Law. Working closely with faculty, Instructional Technology ensures that New England is best utilizing technological resources to support the world-class teaching provided by New England faculty. Professor McCarthy is a member of the Law Librarians of New England, the American Association of Law Libraries, and on the Board of Directors and nominating committee for NELLCO, a consortium of law libraries.
