Peter J. Shurn has practiced commercial law, focusing on intellectual property law, for 35 years. His practice is concentrated in litigation, dispute resolution, and client counseling in complex commercial matters, and he has represented clients ranging from small businesses to Fortune 100 firms. His professional activities include serving as an arbitrator in disputes involving commercial contracts, technology, and/or intellectual property; serving as an expert consultant/witness; and serving as a court technical advisor in patent hearings. He is an adjunct professor at the Houston College of Law. 

Before becoming a sole practitioner in 2001, Shurn was a partner with Arnold, White & Durkee and its successor, Howrey Simon Arnold & White, LLP. He also served as technical advisor to the Honorable Helen W. Niles of the Court of Customs and Patent Appeals (now the US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit).

Shurn’s New England Law | Boston activities included serving as a staff member and technical editor of the New England Law Review.
