Most interesting experience before law school.
Meeting Martha Stewart. She’s the first celebrity I ever met. She came over while I was setting up bar for the grand reopening of the Fontainebleau Hotel in Miami. She was very kind. She asked for a Cosmopolitan. I mean, she would.
One of the best experiences I’ve had at law school.
The first few days at school, meeting people, I mentioned I was interested in beverage law. Immediately, I was introduced to a New England Law grad who represents importers and distributors. Through him I met another alum, and that turned into a summer internship at his firm working with restaurateurs and hospitality industry clients. Now I’m working for the attorney who represents the restaurant where I picked up a part-time bartending job last year.
Favorite class I’ve taken.
Personal Income Tax. I really liked it. My Wills, Estates, and Trusts class was fantastic as well because you learn how to pass your estate down in the best way, with the least amount of tax consequence.
On my first visit, I noticed how all the students and professors interacted with each other. This school has a great sense of community, and that helps me be a better student.
